EMERGENCY SURVIVAL KIT

Supplies will depend on # of People and Family Pets in household.

My List is different than what I have found on-line, for instance-and I feel, of most importance-

Medication we must take or inhale, or whatever-have some stored or keep your day to day meds-close to this Survival bag so they are not missed! For your Pets too…

Speaking of…The list also didn’t have any mention of those other Family Members-the Furry ones! I couldn’t believe it. I keep my kitty carriers and Dog Leashes together, right by the door out. (The best least/obstructed door out.) Don’t want to be hunting for either, if you have just seconds or minutes…

It could be the difference between the life or death or your li’l loved one.

Just like the town of Paradise-Everything was wiped out-No ATM’s…and so much else was lost…such a Tragedy and guess what everyone-those of us that in or are close to Placerville-the same thing can happen there/here!

SO, HAVE SOME CASH! Again depending on how many family members or pets-need enough for Food, water and sanitation.

Massive Power outages, which seem to be happening more than ever, at least, where I live-are going to continue-PG & E threatens to cut power to neighborhoods-when just experiencing high wind now…

This Survival Kit, below, isn’t just for Quick Exit circumstances-in case of a Fire, obviously…it is for any emergency-good to keep in the trunk of your car so you don’t even have to hunt for it. You just never know when you may have to make a quick exit, or how far you may have to go.

Be prepared, not sorry…

…extra batteries! C or D depending on what your flashlight takes…and also extras for your radio-not bad idea to have a hand crank radio-that was on their list J The extra batteries were not…you just never know!

SURVIVAL KIT OF THE FITTEST-BE READY TO GRAB AND GO!

  1.           A Flashlight or Two!
  2.           Batteries-Size C & D, AND Extra Batteries
  3.          Water-Depending on how many family or household members-is suggested to have minimum of 1 gallon per person for 3 days min.-For Drinking AND for Sanitation.
  4.           Food-Non-Perishable enough for 3 Days.
  5.           Battery powered hand crank Radio and a NOAA Radio with Tone Alert.

*If have animals keep a leash by your carrier/s so if you have to move quick they are together-don’t keep up in the attic or somewhere you can’t easily access them-could mean saving your pets life.

*Have extra medication for whatever the ailment-also close to your kit-if not in it, be sure there is an ample amount. IF stored in the kit-keep a note to check expiration dates-like you do your smoke detectors & air filters…new batteries for those detectors, every 6 months J You do that, right?! J

The time to get an emergency kit put together is not when you need it but when you don't. Putting a comprehensive kit together now will ensure its there at the ready when needed.
