Be The Magic And Be Unforgettable.

By
Commercial Real Estate Agent with Next Wave RE Investments LLC Bullhead City AZ Commercial RE Broker AZ BR 528507000

How, it was asked, do you keep your pipeline full when SO MANY FOLKS (hey, myself included) won't take calls. Or texts.

The scams rage far and wide. No one is certain you are not, at very least an annoyance when they don't have time--or at worst, someone capable of destroying their life.

What's the workaround?

HOW do we communicate in a way that keeps people reaching out to US (A helluva lot easier, cleaner, and more cost effective than 'push' marketing)?

By example. NOT words (except incidental to the tasks at hand).

We get opportunities with EVERY TRANSACTION to be the magic and be unforgettable.

For our clients, with efficiency.

For cooperating brokers, with patience and calmness.

For the other principal, with timeliness.

For EVERYONE, with a smile and laugh. (God, y'all humorless folks are a lot to take at times. People want to be lifted UP.)

THEN, we REALLY get to co-create! Small things can mean so much:

In a current transaction with a multinational corporation making a BIG move with a seemingly infinite number of preparations, I sat on the phone at 6pm my time (and those who know me know that I've probably been up since 3am and am in my 60s, pretty spent by sundown) with 3 internet service providers for over an hour, helping the client to assess the best provider for his needs. I didn't have to, but I could. And that allowed me to easily submit the info/pros/cons of each so he could decide, freeing him to work on even bigger things without delay to our closing. This will translate into probably half a dozen more deals over the coming year.

Another client was easier - his neighbor needed a deed form for a simple transfer. ("Oh, my gal's gonna have that--stand by!Told you!") I had one in Word, and the number of a forms paralegal and title company to check the work before recording. Took 3 seconds, now I'm a miracle worker. And the neighbor is a new client.

Even easier and sweeter - a random, unexpected gift card for ice cream for someone who just got out of the hospital . . .  hey, hospital food sucks!

Use your imagination. Be present, creative and original. Toss in some surprise. Anticipate what may be needed, and deliver it before they know they need it! Boom! Magic.

If you can show loyalty, love and devotion in small and even silly ways, you can carve in stone the connection between you and those who will send you business - often, for free - no matter the market cycle.

CAN you be AS LOYAL, your faith as UNSHAKABLE as Madison's?

This is hard for me to watch; I tear up considering the absolute devotion that this dog had for his family, whose home was destroyed, as he waited for them to return.

Can YOU be that solid?

DO you have enough FAITH in yourself and the right outerworking of things, and in people (even when you've been stuck squarely in your thoracic by the worst in human nature you will invariably encounter) to 'own' the best and wait patiently, busying yourself with what you do, knowing that what is yours will arrive?

Then you have the heart, the vibration of love, the magic to be unforgettable and ever surrounded by abundance and prosperity.

Welcome back, Madison's family.

(I can't remember who said I needed to toss in older tunes on occasion . . . here you go!)

Candice,

Ah, loyalty is a gigantic subject. We are at present working to circumvent an issue for one of our clients. What a lovely post.

Been thinking about loyalty a lot lately myself. Saw that sweet dog sit in that yard with no house and no family not leaving, waiting to be retrieved. They wanted him back as much as he wanted them back, so they found each other again against pretty big odds. How many of us would have such certainty. Dogs are so much better than people. LOL
We need to be more like dogs.

I didn't realize how tough it would be to get a video on this - all the players were so weird. This one is too! But it's all there.

Candice- what I've found is that the seemingly smallest gestures can stay with someone for the longest time. People remember these and thus loyalty is born.

Yeah the small things are the most important things because they're done with no expectation of reciprocity. People can tell when you're giving to get.

Good morning Candice A. Donofrio ,

I'm so glad that Kathy Streib featured your post in her "Ah-ha" moment for the week (the AR gods were sleeping). What a wonderful post ..there are so many things you can do to be Magical and Unforgettable but your heart has to be in it and you have to be happy from your heart. When you are you are like a magnet and many are attracted to you!

Bingo, Candice. I love Dorie Dillard CRS GRI ABR 's comment. Can't do better, so "what she said." And the dog story reminds us all why dogs are absolutely the coolest most loyal pals on the planet. Sorry cat people, they are amazing too, but doubt they'd hang out waiting for anyone to come back home.

Yes, cats are loyal as well, Debb, and they would hang out and wait for you. Many go back to their former homes after their owners move.

I'm so glad Kathy included this in her weekly post. I totally agree; anticipate what might be needed, be authentic, helpful, kind and loyal... and magic happens.

I teared up at the story about Madison. Dogs are soooo loyal. It's heart warming.

I heard the story about the dog going back to the burned out mess to wait and the reunion. Happy stories are best. Doing what we can to help others is what makes life worth living to the fullest. It's amazing, almost a bit selfish, really, how good you feel after spreading a bit of magic yourself.

It feels that say sometimes, doesn't it? But we're just being unselfish with ourselves by receiving good vibes back at us. No shame in that!

Okay Candice, I am reading reading, nodding in agreement and then you throw in the dog video.  Ohmigosh... now you're killing us.  And as a special bonus; Jefferson Airplane!!!  WOOOO

Hey, great thoughts here.  Surprising with the unexpected is really a great idea.  I went into a builder's office (they know me) with my guitar, did a three-minute serenade, shook hands and walked out.  I am memorable. ha

OMG you are memorable! That's freaking awesome! What did you sing?

I don't sing.  Ha.  I just play guitar.  Here is a cover of something my high school buddies recorded in Nashville area a few years back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5Jfvu1iTAM

My brother is singing.  He was in a pro band in the 80s-90s called Hobbit.

Hi Candice A. Donofrio Thanks for a great blog. I agree that I just recently am starting to struggle with all of the fake phone calls.  I am relying more and more on text and even going back to using a lot of email. A lot of times I Text...and have them call me when they have time.

There is nothing as wonderful - or as unappreciated by many - as a dog.

Knowing what they do for us in ways both small and large makes me wonder how any human could ever mistreat a dog.
