It is bitter today but relatively clear so far this morning. The critters were and are busy in my yard. When the snow melts there is what I call The Great Forage. It is a time to turn up leaves and look for something to eat. Here are a few of my neighbors.

Watching the critters is always fun and never gets old. I remember when I was back in Missour the squirrels were so plentiful. I just loved watching them scurry hither and yon.

I love that bird in the top photo, Sheila. So colorful and unusual to anything we have in Sacramento. Hey, foraging isn't only for animals. I often do it in my bed all day when there are rainy days.
