. If you have been in real estate...or business period....for any length of time...you have realized the value of a business plan. Not the one you wrote in November, reviewed in December and filed until next...that's the one that...well..uh "didn't work"....you didn't WORK it ! The road to a good business plan is often paved with good intentions...and that is where the road ends.
You did not include the money for Uncle Sam...the fee to your broker...ooops...there is the cell phone bill...and your health insurance... and...and...and...easy to "forget"....or choose not to remember how much goes where and realistically what you have to earn to realize the success that you envision for yourself.
You may feel like you have written a business plan a thousand times. Having written them for/with other agents...we often feel that way. We are always open to new ideas....to the "all inclusive" plan that remembers for us...our tax rate to pay Uncle Sam...the cost of the organizations we are required to join...things tucked in your memory bank but you may have forgotten to deduct from your GCI (Gross Commission Income) when you write your plan for a prosperous 2019.
Sometimes...it is not what you forget to add to a plan....but what you forget to subtract that makes all the difference between one that is successful and one that is not.
We know you know...we do too...but it never hurts to be reminded on a number of levels...and then add your own number of levels to what you will do market your practice and prosper your business. How will you do it...what will you spend...what flexibility will you build into your plan...what are your target times/dates for reviewing the plan..the more complete it is...the greater your opportunity for success.
