When You Have to Shoot, Shoot. Don't Talk. This could also be titled... There's no time like the present.  It could also be titled Be Prepared. 

The best time to do something is now. 

    How many times in your life did you have an opportunity to do something, but maybe had reservations about how it would turn out? Were you thinking about what other people would think or would they criticize your plan or tell you why it won't work? Did you waste valuable time and effort trying to convince yourself and others why it was a good plan, instead of taking the steps to start working on the implementation? In other words, did you talk instead of shoot like Tuco in the video above? 

    The movie The Good, The Bad and The Ugly has so many great quotes, I could write a dozen blog posts, this one always was my favorite quote. This scene was also a great reminder to always be prepared, which is the motto of The Boy Scouts of America. When I was Scoutmaster for Troop 324 in Bourbonnais, IL I would ask the scouts, "Be prepared for what?" The correct answer of course was be prepared for any old thing. My decision to become a home inspector was not made lightly and without preparation, but I did not wait and rethink and do numerous surveys and studies and wonder to my friends and family if it was a good idea or am I making a terrible decision. I could have easily stayed at my old job and plodded along through my life as it was very comfortable and secure. It just wasn't what I knew in my mind I wanted to be doing until I retired. I made the decision, prepared for it, then did it. Now. The time to shoot was upon me. Time for talking was over.
