As a San Jose Realtor, I've learned to follow my heart and let my passion and fire burn in my soul. I live my life fully, authentically, fearlessly, vulnerably naked and following my heart.
I know many people, including those I love and are dear to my heart who feels much differently about Mr. Steve Jobs than I do. That's okay. We are all entitled to our opinions, thoughts, and beliefs.
The following is only part of a speech Mr. Jobs gave in 2005 at Stanford University. My purpose in this post is to focus on a few lines in that speech.
You Are Already Naked - There Is No Reason Not To Follow Your Heart
Bold emphasis added to the last two lines of a portion of the speech.
"Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart. "

In business and in life, I do not separate the two because for me it is all about who I am being each and every day.
We only get to live this life once. Life truly is short. In the blink of an eye we are born and in a flash, even if that flash is 100 years or more, we die.
In hindsight, I cannot say I now feel like I faced death with cancer in 2012. That is only because I beat that evil ugly beast and 6 years and counting I am still here living vulnerably naked.
What about that nakedness? No, I am not a nudist. Yet, I certainly don't judge those who are. Some of my dear friends are nudists. I embrace them for who they are and embrace our differences.
What being naked means to me is that I am a "What you see is what you get" person. In technology "WYSIWYG" translates into an HTML text editor.
No editing required with me. I am transparent. There are no pretenses with me. I live a simple life dedicated to doing no harm in the world.
Following My Heart - I have Fire in my Soul!
When I see people in need, it is my natural inclination to want to help them. I found a way to help people in need of my services and expertise and get paid for my help. I do this in my San Jose real estate business and even more so in probate the trust real estate.
It's a perfect combination that provides me the opportunity to live my life with greater purpose. There is no stopping me - I have a fire in my soul!
I know someday I will die. When that day comes it will come with no regrets for having lived my life fully, authentically, fearlessly, vulnerably naked and following my heart.
