The pizza driver with no delivery.

Yesterday, I held an open house at a listing in the Hills at 1365 E Fort Pierce Drive #10 in St. George, Utah. At lunchtime, I phoned in an order for a medium veggie style pizza with a Cajun crust. My mouth began to water just thinking about biting into the ooey-gooey delicousness.
It was not meant to be.
45 minutes later, I get a call from the delivery person asking for directions.
Apparently the GPS took her around the town rather than to the townhome where I sat. Fifteen minutes later, an hour now, I phoned the business (which was less than 5 minutes away) and the manager said they'd make another if the one delivered was cold.
The pizza never made it to the desination.
I asked for a refund. So sorry was the response to which I agreed. My open house event ended and I had to leave and stuff 100 envelopes for my Christmas mailer. Will this pizza establishment get my business again?
Not likely.
Which brings me to the business side and reason for this post.
Is it feasible for a business to hire a delivery driver who is unfamiliar of the area in which they will be serving? No. It will cost more money, resources and business lost through unfavorable word of mouth advertising.
In a team environment, it is absolutely critical to build it strong. One weak link and everyone's efforts will be adversely affected. At the end of the day, we all wish to remain in business and the end result is to accomplish the goals set forth. Make good decisions because prior decisions do affect future outcomes.
