I received a gift this week that totally suprised me! It had been a challenging week, but I received a small but powerful surprise! I received a beautiful white rose bouquet that was totally unexpected. My husband has been great on giving me flowers throughout our almost 29 year marriage. It was not from him. Who would be sending me flowers for no apparent reason? I never tire of receiving flowers. They bless me tremendously! The beauty, fragrance, colors and the symbolism has always been a delight to me.
I looked at the Card and it was from Jack's Flowers here in Boise, ID. (www.JacksFlowers.net) Why would they be sending me flowers? They sent me flowers to tell me that since I was a Boise Metro Chamber Member they wanted to offer me a special 25% discount for the next 30 days.
What makes this a unique Marketing Idea?
1. As a floral business, I am sure times can be challenging and people sometimes cut back on things. So it showed me that they are willing to give a little to get back more. The law of sowing and reaping is a tried and true practice that works!
2. It got my attention, because it was unexpected and something that I could actually enjoy and use. It really brightened my day and everytime I look at it, it actually puts a smile on my face!
3. They offered a discount coupon to use for a limited time, 30 days! It put a sense of urgency to use their services and whether I need to send out flowers or not, I thought who would enjoy some flowers in the next month?
4. The ability to be creative is a lesson that we can all benefit from whether you have a lot of money or not.
5. It was a simple, and an uncompicated technique that made this memorable. Next time, I need to send flowers to someone, who do you think I will call?
I know that some of our businesses do not always have a tangible product and most of us sell our services, but I am sure you can come up with something that will be unique, memorable and will make someone's day!
What about you? Have you ever received a creative and unique marketing gift that made an impression on you?
