"Some great pointers", I thought just a few moments ago.
I was reading a blog on Buying a new home and was going to give a compliment and add a couple valuable thoughts to this purveyor of fine information.
And then I saw it...horrors
>>>>> Comments have been disabled by the author <<<<<
I asked myself..."Mike, why would this person disable comments?
Are they afraid of something?"
Then I answered myself and that was scary..." well...doodah...maybe she doesn't want or need your thoughts or the thoughts of other real estate people as she is trying to market to her SOI."
No...I didn't scare myself because I answered my own question...(that is a blog for another time)...but because it makes sense...sometimes to block comments. Doesn't it? Maybe?
When we invite comments...which I do...we take the vast good with the few bad responses. I am okay with that. But sometimes they distract from the body of the blog. You also will then have that person's name attached to your blog and if they have a bad reputation...well most of us want to stay away from bad reputations...
But then again, on AR there are so many wise and intelligent (I mean that) contributors that I learn as much from responses to blogs as I ever have reading the blogs.
When you block comments...you miss out on all of this valuable input. And that is an opportunity lost for your clients to learn a new tidbit (almost) provided by you.
I am not sure which is right or if both are...but as for me and my blogs...I will keep the comment section open...unless of course I do not want your input!! Until next time...
