Many years ago we had a puppy named Harry. We left him home alone one night shortly before Christmas, and when we returned he had opened all of his Christmas gifts. He hadn't bothered any of the others under the tree.

How did he know? I'd have said by the scent, but one of those gifts was a toy my Mom had made from scraps of furry material - so no "treat smells."
