Leverage for 2019 - Whatever You Have, Use It!

My plan for 2019 is well under way, it includes another website for a new target niche market and as I review all the places I have profiles and links I realize I have been remiss in leveraging.

leveraging for more handshakes

Leveraging is simply taking some skill you have, or a designation, money, and making use of it in your upcoming marketing.

Leveraging designations. While I don't believe that designations gain me much aside from education, and while we all agree consumers do not really care, I wonder how much proof of that statement there is. So rather than assume, if you have designations and they fit your target market, go back and check your profiles. Then next time you write a post, leverage your designation. Make your readers understand you have more education in the field.

Now leverage your profiles. No matter where they are, go back and update them all. I found one of mine with the wrong office address, your's may have the wrong company name! They are not all updated on auto pilot! Take some time to do a quick profile run around and be sure you are happy with what it says. Updated your bio's. Update your social media links, update your blog links and website links and update your photos.

Leverage your marketing budget. Whether it is minimal or a sizeable chunk of change, make sure you are leveraging it to the best of it's dollar value. If you have not or do not assess your marketing dollars and the ROI, you should, even if it means leaving it alone, it's a quick review to make sure things are working well and the leverage is good.

Leverage your skills. We've all got things we are very good at. For some it's creating websites that rank - Me. For others it's Facebook marketing, it might be high level knowledge about a niche, or just what you are naturally good at. Are you leveraging your skills? Are you really? Take a real hard look and see if there's some additional marketing that aligns with your special skills, and don't wait! Start now, do it yourself or outsource the process.

Let's leverage ourselves and get a few more handshakes in 2019.

I think most agents don't leverage their designations. Just putting them out there isn't enough. Most consumers don't even know what those initial stand for. Instead, name them and tell how you having that knowledge benefits your clients.

Thanks for these ideas Corinne.   I don't think I've pushed my designations at all and will do so in the new year.  Also working on revamping my website.  Leveraging all our skills is a must.  That is pretty much all we have! Thank you

I agree with Marte. Designations aren't going to help unless your prospects know what they stand for.

You are one sharp gal, Corinne! I love your advice and now, just need to implement it. You know, we have grown our social networks over the years and at some point, we need to fine-tune them. There is no way, humanly possible, to sell real estate and manage 100 different profiles, networks, websites...it's simply overwhelming if you stop and think about it.

I especially love your thoughts on designations too - we pay dearly for some of them and why NOT share with the consumer the reason the designation serves them. Thank you for that too!

I hope you and yours have the merriest of Christmases, Corinne!

Very smart advice.  Googling ourselves will produce sites we may have forgotten about.  I've been working on that this year specifically because I switched companies.  It's also wise to re-write some bios as well. GREAT ADVICE!

The experience to get you to the other side!

My grandmother would say "Use your talents." Most people these days think of it as their natural aptitude, but it also used to be an ancient form of currency.

I always remember the parable in the Bible - failure to use one's natural gifts/abilities does more harm than good.  So... LEVERAGE!
