Another BIG Week For Charlotte Region's Job Growth, Making December 2018 A BIG Month For The Charlotte Region
On top of the announcements the week of December 7th that Lending Tree and Honeywell would be expanding their Charlotte opeations resulting in close to 1,000 new jobs over the next five years, this week Charlotte had more good news on the job growth front.Three companies announced expansions in Charlotte that would increase jobs by and additional 2,500 jobs in the Charlotte metro area over the next five years. All in all, December was a great month for Charlotte region's job growth expectations with almost 3,500 new jobs announced. And that's not including the benefits accruing from the finanaical investments these companies will be making in the area. No doubt that Charlotte's growth and reputation as a world-class corporate city continues to grow!

Cognizant, a Fortune 500 Company and one of the world's leading professional companies providing information technology, consulting and business process services, announced that Cognizant will expand its operations in Charlotte, creating 300 new jobs and adding to its current workforce in the Charlotte area of some 960 employees. The new jobs will have average salaries of just over $68,000. Additionally, Cognizant will be investing $5 million in Mecklenburg County.
AvidXchange, an automatic payments company employing approximately 900 people in the Charlotte region, announced plans to bring more than 1,220 jobs to the region as well as to expand its headquarters in the Charlotte area. As part of this expansion, AvidXchange plans to invest a total of $41 million in the project over the next five years. Average salary for the new jobs will be $68,569.
ServiceMac, a mortgage subservicing company, announced its plans to move its operations to a 100,000-square-foot office in Bailes Ridge Corporate Park in Indian Land, just over the Charlotte border. The move is expected to create 1,000 jobs in the region over the next five years. ServiceMac is investing $24 million in the project.
