Delray Beach...Christmas

 

The holiday that many wee ones eagerly wait is almost here. In Delray this week the beach was busy with visitors taking advantage of our wonderful weather.

In the past I would note the hustling and bustling of people shopping at the mall, however, I’ve noticed the hustling and bustling of UPS, FedEx and Amazon delivery trucks in neighborhoods.

Christmas is joy, religious joy, an inner joy of light and peace. Pope Francis

 

 

We see very few “ugly” Christmas sweaters down here, probably because it’s too hot for them. I suppose to make up for it, though, I have seen an abundance of large Christmas lightbulb necklaces, blinking bulb earrings, and a few antler ears headbands.

 

I’m all for anything that puts you in a festive and joyous spirit.

I've always wondered what it would be like to celebrate the Christmas season in a warm, beach environment.  In fact, shopping with Susan Haughton yesterday in a balmy 68 degree Fredericksburg, VA yesterday left us both a little disappointed at first.  Nonetheless, the decorated store fronts and window displays had us in the mood ...we just didn't have to wear heavy coats enjoying it.

Such a wonderful time of the year, no matter where you live but, I can only imagine the glorious weather you're having during this magical season, Kathy!

I did my Christmas Eve run about an hour ago and couldn't believe how many fewer people I saw out than I have in years past. You're right, more delivery trucks - more online deliveries, for sure!
