As a lifelong outsider, I have celebrated all kinds of holidays with my friends. It does not offend me to hear Merry Christmas or any other kind of greeting.

If someone says Happy Hannakah, Happy Kwanzaa, Merry Christmas or something else, it's all wonderful. They are just sharing their good wishes.

I like Kat Palmiotti 's comment. Take it in the spirit it was given.  I grew up with Christmas spirit and I enjoy wishing others a Merry Christmas.

Loved that cartoon, William. But a bit of a sad commentary on our society at the same time.  No one has yet had the nerve to stop me from saying Merry Christmas. Shame isn't it that these days it's often more acceptable to use the S or F word than to say Merry Christmas.

I enjoy people wishing me a positive greeting from whatever religion they may believe and support. I don't believe wishing someone a Merry Christmas is a negative and I never will think that...

Good morning William. I never got this. I don't celebrate Christmas but am never offended by Merry Christmas. If I don't know that someone is Christian I might say Happy Holidays but any nicety is a blessing.

We have a very diverse population in our area but few are offended when they are wished a Merry Christmas. Some of our Jewish friends have very nice Christmas trees.

First let me wish you a Merry Christmas, William!  I must tell you that I have a very good East Indian friend.  She's a girl of full Indian decent, who was born and raised in Australia.  She is of the Sikh faith, and although dressed in a beautiful saris, when we worked at a software company together, she thought we ought to close up shop and go to the pub at 2:00 am each afternoon.  She also happens to love Christmas, and puts up a gorgeous tree.
