Trying to stay awake until midnight on New Year’s Eve is always a struggle for me so if you are like me, here are some fun ideas to celebrate the new year on December 31st and January 1st.
Then grab a bite to eat at another one of my favorite spots in Lacey, WA – the Curry House located at 8765 Tallon Lane NE. This is a family-run Indian food restaurant and it is delicious. The chicken tikka masala is excellent!
After a filling lunch, take the kids and head to downtown Olympia to the Hands On Children’s Museum at 414 Jefferson St NE for their Noon Year’s Eve. From 9 AM to 5 PM, there will be a ball drop every hour, lots of activities for the kids, a parade, costumed characters, dancing, and music.
While downtown, take a stroll around Percival Landing along the waterfront and check out the Childhood’s End Gallery at 222 4th Ave W in Olympia. The gallery features contemporary Pacific Northwest artists. You’ll find paintings, glasswork, woodwork, jewelry and more.
On January 1, 2019, really shake the winter blues by doing the Polar Bear Plunge at Long Lake Park in Lacey, WA. The event starts at noon and the plunge is at 1 PM. You can enter Long Lake Park at 2790 Carpenter Road SE.
That should get your 2019 off to a great start!
And if you are planning on making a move, call me today because you’ll want to get a jump on the spring real estate market.
Happy New Year!
