Boy Scout Troop 557 is collecting Christmas Trees once again!  Scouts will collect trees both in our designated neighborhoods and at the QFC Bella Bottega Parking lot.   Thank you for supporting Boy Scouts with your donation.

The Washington State University Master Recycler Composters and Master Gardeners will be offering recycling of Christmas trees, holiday lights and styrofoam at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station starting Dec. 26. The organizations will accept live trees and wreaths, which must have all decorations removed. The transfer station on Tower Ave. in Centralia will be accepting the recycling from Dec. 26 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until Jan. 13. Questions may be directed to 360-740-1452

Our area collects them with yard waste in the month of January, so long as they are clean and have no leftover tinsel or other decorations.

What a great localism post, Lauren. Our trees are picked up by the County's trash collection department, but this is a great service by the Boy Scouts.
