Today is January 1, 2019 and with the turning of each year it is prudent to reflect on how you got here. Hopefully you didn’t overdo it last night, I have heard from many friends who have course corrected how they spend the night ushering in the New Year these days. Depending on where you are in your personal life and career, spending the first day on the New Year in pain, regretting how hard you partied can be a real wake up call. Our days of partying on New Year’s Eve are over, in fact it is harder to even make it to Midnight just to promptly go to bed immediately after. The crowds can be intolerable as well, depending on what event you may try to go to. In any case, if you are waking up on this New Year’s Day, we urge you to reflect on the past year and see where you will be wanting yourself for this next year. The first day of the year is a great opportunity to see that you have done exactly what you set out to do, whether that is reaching all your Highlands Ranch property management goals or satisfying all your Denver property management clients. Did you get all your metrics? Did your business grow? Did your personal life improve in stride with any financial milestones? Work/life balance was great? There’s always more to work on in any given year, but today focus solely on the positives. Some people can’t wait to say goodbye to a year, but if you accomplished a lot in 2018 examine that. See what worked and apply that to 2019. Keep your same level of service and improve where possible. Keep moving forward and only stop to take in the success of the previous year. Don’t dwell on the bad, instead identify it and plan to conquer it this year. Here’s to hoping everyone finds what they need in 2019.
