Don't give up the Future, give up the Past

Carol Williams has issued a December challenge to choose a quote and to write a blog post around it. The deadline for posts in this challenge is midnight tonight.

I had decided not to enter this contest until read today's blog by John Henry. He provided some outstanding advice as we face the challenges of the new year. Click on the link to read and share his post.

Many of us feel the burdens of the past and John has encouraged us to give up those burdens and to focus on the present and future opportunities that are before us. Join me and let's make some changes in the new year. 

The past to discard could relate to business or personal experience. The source does not matter. What is important is to overcome the burdens for a fresh start. Stand straight as the weights are lifted and make 2019 your best ever year.

Hi Roy, that was great of you to repost this.  I think the quote affects people in different ways.  I was watching a video on YouTube about Ali and heard those words and thought... hmm... there is a lot to digest here.  Lovely photo as well!! Thanks again very much and hope we can all shed some of the weight that has psychologically paralyzed us for too long.

Happy New Year!   I am glad that you decided to go ahead and take Carol up on her challenge.   You've helped me discover John Henry, a member that I was not familiar with due to my inactivity.   

Yet, both quotes you are shared contain great thoughts that we should take to heart as we start yet another year.   The past is past.

Good points Roy Kelley. Reminds me of  the story of the boat and those that look the "V" wake of the boat and it travels. One can look at the V which is where the boat has been or one can grab hold of the steering wheel and set a brand new course! Don't get mesmerized with past but set your mind on what is ahead.
