When it comes to motherhood, the list of things we are supposed to "just know" seems neverending! It is as if we are just meant to be born with the ability to perfectly manage an entire household of children while keeping everything tidy and managing everyone's hectic schedules.... all while remembering not to burn dinner!
Perfection is an impossible standard that so many parents hold themselves to, yet it still remains. In my years of motherhood, the number one thing I have found that keeps me sane while keeping my home running as smoothly as possible is having a system for organizing the chaos of our schedules.
I utilize a planner faithfully and highly suggest it to anyone with any sort of schedule or hectic lifestyle they need to keep up with. There are so many different styles of planners and journals to choose from that you can easily find one perfectly suited to your needs.
There are the traditional planners which simply provide you the days of the week with space to write your tasks or goals for each day as well as a calendar page at the start of each month. These are great for students or those with basic daily schedules to maintain.
There are also planners that are similar to this but slightly expanded to include an hourly breakdown through the day, for those of us with busier schedules who need each and every hour to be planned out, lest we forget an important appointment!
To expand even further, you can opt for a daily planner that has added pages for things such as meal plans and budgeting sheets! These are great for moms who loves to stay organized and keep everything together in one spot.
If you want something much more customized and open to being freely designed to your needs, I highly suggest a bullet journal. It’s likely you have heard of the huge craze that is taking the world by storm lately, and for all the right reasons! You can find a great starting guide from Citrus and Stripes with plenty of tips. Bullet journals are such a fun and creative way to stay organized! There are so many ways to design and manage your bullet journal that it would be impossible to ever not love being organized!
Hopefully these tips can help you get off on the right foot this year by keep life a little less hectic!
