Everyone in Texas is feeling the Flower Mound Pride. Not only did the Flower Mound Marching Band participate in the 2019 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year's Day, but they also marched and the Band played on at Disney on January 2, 2019. Their colorful band uniforms were just as bright and beautiful as the Band Members.
Students who are drawn to music feel connected to the music and each other. They are a Team. Creativity flows like a river and when everyone is marching to the tune of their own instrument success is most likely. Playing an instrument takes practice, determination, self-discipline, focus, and listening skills. Being a member of a Flower Mound High School Band gives students confidence as they tap into their creativity to reach their fullest potential. Musicians have special abilities from the perceptual right hemisphere of the brain. For more information about the Flower Mound High School Band from LISD (Lewisville Independent School District) follow the link above in blue.
As described in the Flower Mound High School home page, there are four concert bands that meet during the school day. Also, all students in LISD participate in marching band as part of the district curriculum. There are 2 marching bands at Flower Mound High School: the Competition Band and the Jaguar Band.
Flower Mound is a family community. I believe we should never overlook or lose sight of the role a family, a school, and a community can play in a student's life. When a student makes a contribution to a community and recognized on a National level, it brings about an awareness of just how special students are in this world.
