Grateful Thursdays-Week #1

I have decided that every Thursday in 2019, I will blog about at least one thing that I am grateful for.  And to kick it off.....here we go.

Every day I am reminded of the many things that I am grateful for in my life.  After all, there are so many people that have so much less that manage to smile and be happy with what they have.  When my kids were younger, I would ask them on the way to school to tell me one thing that made them thankful and I was always surprised by their answers.  Especially from my son, who is the youngest.  He would roll his eyes at me but always give me at least one thing.  Knowing that I would ask every day, especially in November of each year, he was more prepared with a response.

Christmas tree

Today, I am thankful for the ability to decide that I am taking a day off.  Not everyone can just wake up in the morning on any given day and just decide to stay home.  But I needed to get the Christmas decoration put away and my schedule allowed for me to work from home if needed.  So I stayed in my pajamas for most of the day and got everything organized and put away.  Now I can focus on work tomorrow and relax this weekend.  My ability to choose my own schedule can in handy when there was a field trip for school or when one of the kids was home sick.  It is often the best thing about working for myself.  How about you?  What are you grateful for today?

Keep smiling!

flexible schedule was a huge part of my real estate careet choice as well.  I haven't taken many days off lately, but soon I'm going on another adventure with my husband.

Little things are the ones that are to be most grateful of. Especially in the eyes of the children.

Hello Karen - there are many reasons to be grateful - some are simple and some are not as easy as others. You did it and I imagine you felt pretty good about it and it will make another day/task so much better to tackle.

Thankful Thursdays; good idea for blog posts. I agree, being self employed allows us to change up our days anyway we want. I think of it as being semi retired while working.
