The Alameda’s Farmer’s Market is open to the public on Saturday, January 5, and Tuesday, January 8 mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine. All the fruits and vegetables are available at great prices. So good! Don’t miss the opportunity to shop for delectable fruits, vegetables, and flowers. The market is on Haight Avenue at Webster Street and is open rain or shine.
Annual Rose Pruning on Saturday, January 5 at 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Lincoln Park rose garden presented by the East Bay Rose Society. This free event will feature rose pruning demonstrations and lessons on the care of roses Lincoln Park is at 1450 High Street.
Alameda South Shore Center and Off the Grid food trucks will be at South Shore on Saturday, January 5, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the South Shore Center parking lot in front of Petco.
Crab Cove for Family Nature Fun Hour features “Mammals!”. Then find out what’s new at the cove on Saturday, January 5, and Sunday, January 6 at 2:00 pm. Crab Cove is located at 1252 McKay Avenue. Please call 510-544-3187 for more information.
PEERS presents a Victorian 12th Night Ball hosted by Mr. Mrs. Fizziwig of a Christmas Carol on Saturday, January 5 beginning at 7:00 pm at the Alameda Elks Rathskeller. Bangers & Mash performs ballroom dance music and no partners are required. No host bar, light buffet, and tickets are $25 at the door. Elks Lodge is at 2255 Santa Clara Avenue.
Start the New Year Off with an early morning tour of the Alameda Point Antiques Faire on Sunday, January 6, you’ll have a great time people watching, buying cools things, and enjoying delicious food. Entry fee is $10 before 7:30 am, $5 after 9:00 am. If you haven’t been to the Alameda Point Antiques Faire you are missing an excellent event. It is located at the end of Main Street at Alameda Point. Rain cancels the Faire but it will be held the following Sunday.
