You are driving down the road and the guy coming towards you has High Beams on.

What do you do?

1) Flash your lights at them

2) turn on your high beams and leave them on

3) Don't look directly at the on coming lights and concentrate on the solid fog line.

In Minnesota, the last is the right answer.

You can get a ticket by flashing your lights at an oncoming cars.

Reason is because yo ucould blind the oncoming car and cause an accident.

It does make sense to some degree.

I don't flash my lights anymore.  I don't need the ticket

Dear William,

Very funny! I hope, they have the high beams on out of ignorance rather than malice. Some of the newer lights are very irritating, even without high beams.

Morning William.

If that were true in my state, the law enforcement authorities would need to bring a couple of extra ticket books with them, on each shift.

Good morning William. When I was younger it did not bother me. Now, however, it does! Like James Dray , I might flash my lights. Been going on in Illinois for over 60 years or more. Enjoy your day!

I just put my brights on also. That usually reminds them to turn theirs down, and then I do the same.

I never flash my lights because there was a report that bad people would target you if you did and hurt you. It was like initiation to a gang.

Number 3 is the correct answer here in California too.  Although, it is very tempting to flash them so the other driver realizes their brights are on!

Now that you mention it, William, I have no clue what the laws are in NC and SC. Will need to look them up.

Good morning William. Odd law I think. I absolutely love the cartoon.

This a very good reminder not to flash those lights.

Have an outstanding weekend.

Sometimes we are so overly PC it drives me nuts. I would still flash my lights and expect the same in return. Forget the ticket. What are they? 15?

Like Myrl Jeffcoat said, #3 is the right answer.  We happily do not encounter this! Love the illustration.  A

I'm not sure what the law is in Oregon. Did flash my brights at a Sheriff deputy before but no ticket.  Will have to look it up.
