Are you looking for a reason to act? Or a reason NOT to act? If you look to the media to guide you, you will always find stories to reflect whatever it is you want to hear.

Here he shares some great perspective on stories and situations that did NOT receive media attention, yet still changed the lives of individual sellers and buyers, helping them to move forward in ways they wanted to go. Based on the media, they were afriad it couldn't happen. After consulting with experts, they discovered the market was in their favor!

Please remember, and I say this as a former journalist, stories in the media are designed to sell papers/subscriptions!

There is a new question people are asking and it is not just "How is the Real Estate Market? Here in the Manchester NH area, when I am out and about, many people are now asking how the present situations such as politics, the economy, the stock market and raising interest rates are affecting the Real Estate Market,

Let me tell you that you do not need a FLASHLIGHT to see what is happening. First lets talk interest rates. Nearly every buyer last week was shocked to hear that mortgage interest rates went down last week. It was followed by great excitement and many jumping back into the market. You did not see that on the evening news though....

Second, I let them know despite anything they see in the news, the right time to buy or sell a home is "when they are ready." What you see on TV does not reflect what most Americans are experiencing. Advice an old timer was giving at the Diner was for everyone to turn off the news and enjoy the world around them.

I also have fielded quite a few questions about the Stock Market. Recently selling a home to a stock broker, I spent the last 3 months discussing the insights of the market. First, unless you are a day trader, leave the stocks where they are as there will be some wild swings, but they always level out. What goes up goes down and what goes down will come up.

In theory, you can dwell on anything negative and get quite depressed. OR you focus on the positive, and live your life in a positive manner. Politics has swallowed some people up. For the rest of us we need to love our lives. That includes buying and selling homes. This week alone an elderly couple who can no longer take care of their big home. They can no longer go up and down those stairs so easily. They were crushed they would not be able to sell and within an hour of talking, they were overjoyed the value I told them their home was worth.  Take a young couple, they both turned 30, have good jobs, good credit and some savings, but not alot. They were depressed thinking the interest rates were too high for them to buy. I sat them with my favorite loan officer. They were pre qualified and super happy at the low rate they were quoted. They just found their dream home.

The moral of the story is not to dwell on what the media sensationalizes. The economy is flourishing.

AND to know that a Buyer or Seller should not choose just any agent, choose the BEST agent for the job. Having an agent that works for you is a must.

My philosophy is simple, provide more personal and professional service to guide my clients through each step of the buying or selling process. All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest. Those that hire me, find a dedication like no other.
