Motivational Monday - Adaptability, the Key to Success

One of the wisest women we know here in the Rain, our own Barbara Todaro, has been reminding us recently about this very topic - adaptability. Our business is a fluid one and predictability is something that, if we follow our local data, we become adept with the sense of where our markets are heading.

Some things are right in front of us; others require a deeper analysis. However, knowing what to do with the data we collect and our sense of our own business is also essential in planning and goal-setting. The real key to success? Adaptability.

Adaptation = Success

Change is not always welcomed but, when we are at the helm, in control of our own business and the changes within, change is much more palatable...or it should be!

Here are a few other quotes to consider with regards to adaptability. Thanks, Barbara, for the inspiration for this week’s motivational post…

Adaptability is not imitation. It means power of resistance and assimilation.” Mahatma Gandhi

The art of life lies in a constant readjustment to our surroundings.” - Kakuzo Okakura

Change - Will you Adapt?Adaptability is being able to adjust to any situation at any given time.” - John Wooden

And the most successful people are those who accept, and adapt to constant change. This adaptability requires a degree of flexibility and humility most people can’t manage.” - Paul Lutus

Adaptability is the simple secret of survival.” - Jessica Hagedorn

Action and adaptability create opportunity.” - Garrison Wynn

Adaptability enforces creativity, and creativity is adaptability.” - Pearl Zhu

When you're feeling that discomfort we feel when change is on the horizon, remember Darwin's quote. Adapt and embrace the 'new,' for that will open up a whole new world of possibilities for you.

It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.” - Charles Darwin

Happy Monday!

I found out a real estate company once operated from my building. Back in 1910! Imagine who much as changed in that time period. Heck, Imagine what people will think of the way we approach business in 2118.

Hi Barbara Todaro, I agree change is difficult at times. One thing is for sure though, "the more things change the more they stay the same". Change is inevitable.

You can't become a veteran in real estate without understanding this basic principle. The market changes all the time, right along with the world, and if you do not adapt, you will become extinct, just like certain finches.
