Why can't people respect the property of others?

How many times do I have to replace yard signs and pointers?  Time after time, I ask the home owner on a corner to place a pointer sign in the yard to advertise for an OPEN HOUSE or FOR SALE. After getting the OK why do they change their mind and destroy my signs?

I showed up for my open house and both of the signs entering the neighborhood are gone. They have been in place for three days. This just continues to make me believe that the younger generation is not trustworthy.

I even lose steel yard signs in rural areas, I've come to find that people use the steel frames for target practice.

why and what do you do?

Are you sure it's the home owners most all counties have people who go around on weekends and pick up these signs. We here in the Orlando area lose our signs left and right because if it's placed near a sidewalk it's not the residents property but the HOA or the counties easement.

Not sure that it is the homeowners, it could be another agent or an agent from your own company that wants the signs.

Yes i could see that angle in some ares but the neighborhood regulations in this area are non-existant, and no HOA. Just county and right of way or easement form the local government. I understand those, it's indiviuals who grant permission and then throw them away.

i only put out signs for the open houses - no more for sale directionals. some fsbo actually take them and staple their on info. on it. i don't think it's something to blame the young generation on - rude and inconsiderate come in all ages

The homeowners that granted you permission might not be responsible for the missing signs.  It might be other homeowner selling in the same neighborhood.

I have set up a time lapse camera anad caught someone stealing my signs. I have also walked the neighborhood on trash day and found my signs in the trash.  I call the police and have them sited for theft and vandalism.

I always ask for permission to place open house signs in neighbors yards. Then I give them a $5 gift card with a business card when I collect them. They are pleasantly suprised and actually friendlier next time I ask or approach to talk to them.

Never had my signs nabbed, but I have heard other agents complain in my area. I dont mind the plastic open house signs, or metal yard signs. Im worried about high schoolers or vandals spray painting my $400 commercial signs.
