Pets and farm animals.

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with WHISPERING PINES REALTY 20398180

Just a gentle reminder of our pets and farm animals.

We have had a lot of wind the last few days.

Most animals can handle the cold if they have a full shelter from the wind.

Any shelter from wind and the elements helps them stay warm.

Look at your animals living quarters.  Would you stay in them even with a heavy coat?

Very difficult for any animal to stay warm in this type of a weather

Dear William,

Despite their reputation, animals are pretty smart. Given an opportunity, they will find wind shaded spots under trees or in hollows to huddle in together. Built shelter is generally appreciated, especially if it comes with food and water.

William, I am so glad our pets are all indoor now... with that said that photo tells everything, I feel the pain of the animals as well as the humans, Endre

Morning William.

Forecast is for our first snow later this evening, just a dusting.  With all due respect, you can have it all.

Good morning William. As a downtown guy, I am always amazed at the ability of outdoor animals to survive in the cold. Enjoy your day!

Bill, since my chickens knocked down the heat lamp and burned part of the coup I have changed my method to warm them. I got a oil filled small radiator that plugs up and heats up and if tipped over it shuts off. No more heat lamps.

Great reminder, William. People are so often so negligent about this, especially in areas like Charlotte where our temps are more moderate... but it does get below freezing overnight.

Hi Bill, Thanks for the reminders.  We have friends who pasture their horses and have a lean-to for summer shelter, but take them to a neighbor's barn every winter.  Can't be too careful.
