We’re almost half way through the month of January 2019. Are you on track with securing listings? Are you just getting off the blocks? How long should it take you to “hit the ground running?”
Those are plenty of rhetorical questions to make one stop and think for a moment about where they actually stand at this moment in 2019.
What we have closing in January is old business that was created and secured many weeks ago. If your “listing slate” is clean in January, it’s time to load it up, in order to average out your income for the first quarter of 2019.
Let’s go back to “hitting the ground running!” Every subdivision that I’ve ever listed, and there are more than I care to remember, always required “hitting the ground running” to get it “off the ground.” I have the meaning of that phrase “down pat.”
“Hitting the ground running” is synonymous with using both online and offline marketing with one complementing the other and provided in unison. It’s a lot of work. It takes focus, discipline and organization. The result of this method of marketing for a 30 day period, at any time, is my definition of “hitting the ground running.” Empty Listing Slate? NOW IS THE TIME!!!
Make a list of marketing methods that work well in your area, using two columns labeled “Online” and “Offline.” List the subcategories that you’ll be using. “Get off the ground running” by employing those methods for a continuous period of at least 30 days.
When success results, you’ll find that continually using those methods will be the way you market throughout the year. You’ll have a plan carved in stone that results in continuous business this year and every year.
Just a quick thought for the moment…
