Real Estate in 2019 | Time Is Money | The Competition Is Watching You

We’re almost half way through the month of January 2019. Are you on track with securing listings? Are you just getting off the blocks? How long should it take you to “hit the ground running?”

Those are plenty of rhetorical questions to make one stop and think for a moment about where they actually stand at this moment in 2019.

What we have closing in January is old business that was created and secured many weeks ago. If your “listing slate” is clean in January, it’s time to load it up, in order to average out your income for the first quarter of 2019.

Let’s go back to “hitting the ground running!” Every subdivision that I’ve ever listed, and there are more than I care to remember, always required “hitting the ground running” to get it “off the ground.”  I have the meaning of that phrase “down pat.”

“Hitting the ground running” is synonymous with using both online and offline marketing with one complementing the other and provided in unison.  It’s a lot of work. It takes focus, discipline and organization.  The result of this method of marketing for a 30 day period, at any time, is my definition of “hitting the ground running.”  Empty Listing Slate? NOW IS THE TIME!!!

Make a list of marketing methods that work well in your area, using two columns labeled “Online” and “Offline.” List the subcategories that you’ll be using. “Get off the ground running” by employing those methods for a continuous period of at least 30 days.

When success results, you’ll find that continually using those methods will be the way you market throughout the year. You’ll have a plan carved in stone that results in continuous business this year and every year.

Just a quick thought for the moment…

Marte Cliff ah, nothing's perfect with marketing.... every plan needs to tweaked often.... they're having a good start to 2019.... more listings are signed...waiting for professional photographer to take photos and homeowners to do a few tasks at home before the photos...

Marte Cliff tweaking is a big part of every marketing plan.... factors change and marketing must follow.... but you know all of that.... tweaking is a good topic for a blog post... or newsletter.... we had 3 or 4 rate changes in 2018... the economy is always changing and that means people's finances change.... living arrangements; jobs; and many other changes hapen.... marketing must tweak as people's lives change and the real estate market changes....

I hope most people have their 2019 markting up and running and in place by now. True it's never too late but getting your systems in place for the next year should have been done in October and November.

Thanks for the motivation. 2019 is my year of "output" or ACTION. Seen too many people get stuck in "input" mode (preparation and planning)

I am glad this post was featured.   I can't believe that we are already two weeks into the new year.

From a real estate perspective, I am ramping up for my big push, which will start next Monday if not maybe a little sooner.

This morning, I decided that if I wanted to accomplish my New Years resolutions of running a 5K this spring, that I literally needed to get outside and run even though there was still some snow on the ground.

Sometimes taking that first step is the hardest.   I did.  Now I am even more enthused about the real estate plans.

getting off the blocks in the real estate business must be done sooner rather than later.... put a plan of attack together and hit the ground running...
