Singing in the Rain

Not the movie.

And nothing to do with a new or the latest challenge in this forum either.

And definitely no actual singing involved.  Definitely.  No.  Singing.

Just walking.

Walking in the rain.  Or at least what was once rain.  Just the aftermath at this moment.

This morning.

After reports of overnight rain, I began walking.

Here. There.  It was early.  A fresh start.

The air, as you might imagine, equally or more fresh.

The streets still a bit  wet.

The sidewalks in varying degrees of the recent and somewhat far too elusive-at-times Southern California percipitation.

The trees.  The bushes and plants.  And the lawns green with envy yet confident to remain relatively silent.  The early mornings are different. Fewer.  Less.  Many words.  More descriptions.  That's just the way it is.

Obviously a good time to ponder.

As if there needs to be a scheduled time to ponder.

photo taken by Michael Jacobs but not today and not on a walk wondering if the photo uploader feature would work for me ---oops I guess not as this is a photo I have used before.

we have lovely gentle snow falling tonight - the street is quiet.  It is dark and so embracing... it is nice to see a day and night of snow

I love waking up to the aftermath of rain, which I did this morning.  I heard it raining through the night, which is also soothing!  I hope that your day will be enjoyed my friend!

Hi Michael... since my singing would make cats and dogs howl in protest, I don't sing, either. But the kind of walk you described is right  up my alley!

You are dangerously close to having a book filled with poetic ponderings. Really, quite beautiful words to describe a refreshing rain.  Come visit us, we can take lots of walks in the rain. ;)

Good afternoon Michael Jacobs ,

I loved sitting out on our front porch during and after a rain in the house I grew up in upstate NY.I could open this one big window and hear the roaring brook and smell the rain..I loved listening to it..sometimes I'd watch the birds fluttering around shaking their feathers but I actually liked the thunder clamping and the lighting strike.....lots of senses stimulated at one time! A great place to ponder and contemplate life.

I love a street with a canopy of trees. It reminds me when I lived close to downtown OKC and lived in a turn of the 2oth century neighborhood with streets like this.

Michael, this street would be a beautiful area to go for a walk.  Nice to have rain.  Walking today, you would have to try and avoid the ice from our latest snowstorm!
