LIZETTE REALTY 10 Year Anniversary...The Best Is Yet To Come!
In 2009, I just knew I had to do something new. It was at the height of the recession, but... I was hell bent on becoming a Principal Broker. After 5 years of being a REALTOR, I knew I was ready to be a Principal Broker.
I had new ideas and family business blood running in my veins. I had spent most of my life training for this. I was ready to run my own independent boutique brokerage. (For those of you that don't know, REALTORS must put their license with a Principal Broker of a brokerage in order to operate.)
Many REALTORS I knew in 2009, started looking to find new jobs, they were afraid the sky was falling on their real estate world. For some reason, I didn't even consider leaving a career I had worked so hard to build. I stopped watching the news. I wouldn't allow any negativity to enter my thoughts. I made my grand plan and saw it through to the broker's license. Trust me, taking tests are not my thing and it's traumatizing to study and pass. Somehow, I made it through and got everything set up. Lizette Realty was born. There was no way I would give up...ever!
It's really hard to believe 10 years have gone by and I'm only getting more determined to always improve and make Lizette Realty be a better version of itself. You'd be surprised to know of how many large real estate companies have asked me to be their Principal Broker. I've turned them all down. I don't need the constant meetings, pep rallies, contests, titles, designations or trophies to be great at what I do. I'm already motivated as a perfectionist in my own world. I see where they are coming from in that they feel most people need incentives or MLM recruiting to perform. I just don't care about it.
Believe me, I've learned a mountain of stuff since I first started in the business in 2003. What I like best is that when I talk with a client, I know that I can handle the whole situation from beginning to a successful closing. I won't be handing it off to a team member or office worker. My clients can be sure when they call me that I know exactly where their deal is in the process. I don't let anything fall in the cracks and blow up. This is what I am teaching my new agents. Be self sufficient. Learn your job. The WHOLE job...not just a part of it. That's how you will stay in the business and be successful.
2019 with Lizette Realty is already shaping up to be my best year ever. This year, it's all about mentoring my new agents. I've developed a boots on the ground training that will inspire them. Sure we have meetings, but we also go out and study houses, farms, open doors, social media marketing, photography, staging, websites, business cards, meet with lenders, look up deeds and plats in the court house, visit PVA, Planning and Zoning, measure houses with an appraiser and so much more.
I learned how to do all of this on my own. It wasn't a part of my early training. No one went with me to do anything! Writing your first offer, negotiating, inspection, appraisal, even opening the first door with clients is terrifying sometimes! I want my new agents to feel confident in any situation. We do something different every week. I am available anytime they need me for questions or advice.
We usually get together each Friday to train. If you are an new agent licensed in Kentucky and would like a fast start to your career... give me a call. I am looking to mentor a few more agents to be something great in Lizette Realty! Be best! You can do it too!
