History Repeats Itself

Good morning Michael.  I just keep trying to ensure that I don't keep making the same mistakes.

Michael, history repeating itself is something I think about often. My Dad and I talk about this topic. Both good and bad seem to get repeated. I agree with Gabe Sanders I keep trying to make sure I don't make the same mistakes more than once.

Hopefully we all learn from cycles of repetition and making the second time around ...a better one.

You go deep on a daily basis and definitely challenge me to ponder more often than I do.  I hope that your day will be enjoyed my friend!

History repeating is sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Sometimes it's pretty horrible. 

When it's horrible it's time to learn from the mistakes and stop repeating them.

Now you brought me back to my junior year history class, which had the phrase taped with individual letters across the front of the chalkboard in Wayzata, Minnesota. LOL.

Although, I have to mention, Michael, I am very proud to see you did not use the phrase "over and over again," when just over and over suffices. Great job!

Your post reminds me of this phrase, "The transferrance of ignorance!"  I think that this is the cause of history repeating itself on the negative side of things. The base of it is prejudice towards whatever one was inculcated with...I have seen plenty of that, and the inability to accept something different than the solid base of ignorance they have been raised with.  It takes valient effort to reverse that. A

Yes, history certainly does repeat itself, even though we should know it's insanity to repeat the same behavior over and over again and expect a different result.

Michael Jacobs history does indeed at times repeat itself and on a larger perspective that appears to going on now with some folks. Personally when things aren't working right or effectively then it's time for change - we call it SHIFT!  And have done so for many years now...I guess when I grow up I'll know more LOL!

HI Michael Jacobs - Repeating the good in history and life is always a favorable event. However, repeating something that had a negative outcome should always be analyzed for solutions to make the next outcome better!

Well, we do hope that the 'good' repeats itself but, when we do ridiculous things over and over, I think that makes us insane...right?! 

Some of my personal history is in the form of bad habits that I need to break.

Michael, there are things experienced, we DON'T want to repeat, and work hard at not repeating them.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.  That comes to mind in reading this post this morning. Not sure if it's apropos but it's what I felt. To change our useless patterns and habits takes effort and discipline. Mindfulness, it always comes back to mindfulness.
