Interestingly to me anyway, over the past several months I have had a few past and present clients ask me how they can get into real estate. For a variety of reasons, people I speak to are restless and looking for another career. They believe, I think, that real estate is an easy way to improve their lot in life. For many, it is.
For many it is not. For those that are looking to get into real estate, some things are required. For one, patience. For another, the ability to work without much supervision and to have the discipline to work each and every day without being told too. Also, a knack for marketing helps as well. If you are lacking these traits you can still do well, but it will be harder.
Having a large circle of friends and family helps too. These are the people that will help the new agent get the word out that you are ready and able to help real estate buyers and sellers.
Not everyone is cut out to be in real estate, or sales in general. Before jumping into this business, make sure you catalog all your strengths and weaknesses to see if you might be a good fit for Real Estate.
