The Lee County Florida Homestead Exemption ends March 1, 2019. If you purchased or moved into a new primary residence in 2018 you have until March 1 to file for the special tax breaks available for full-time residents.

Please note that if you already have the homestead exemption you do not have to reapply - it will renew automatically. Veterans, widows and widowers are eligible for some additional discounts in addition to the standard homestead exemption.

  • Homestead exemption reminder: Apply for this before March 1st 2019 to get credit in November 2019. The Homestead Exemption allows for $50,000 off of the assessed value of home.

We have a smiliar homestead exemption in Chester County in PA and I remember applying for it a long time ago, saves us money every year.
