Waterfront property

Usually the term waterfront property is an attractive term. Here it takes on a whole new meaning.

Waterfront property

When I was walking the Camino Portugues last year I passed this house next to a river. My first thought was who would buy a home with water running through or underneath it. It was not the only home I saw with water running underneath it on the walk but it was the most extreme example. There was no indication this was a mill of some sort although it could have been and the mill apparatus was inside.

Buyers need to know everything about a property to make wise decisions and be aware of all issues relating to a home. We represent buyers and sellers in Tredyffrin Easttown and along the Main Line. We pride ourselves at making sure they have the information and understand the process to be confident in the decisions they make to buy or not to buy, how to price their home etc.

Call me today, I am always happy to answer your questions and look forward to representing you on your next real estate transaction. I think it would be interesting to own a home with a river running through it? as long as it never flooded. You're right knowing information whether buying or selling is the key and your team would be the one to contact in the Tredyffrin Easttown Main Line.

I does appear that the home is setup for the water to run through it, so perhaps it prevents damage, rather than allowing it.

Endre Barath, Jr. things are ot always what they seem - click bait...

Bob Ratliff we did have a listing with a stream running beneath it, there was a piece of the basement flooryou could pull up and see the stream. the owner, an attorney swore it had never flooded and there had never been water in the basement. One of our open houses there was water in the basement and he refused to update the seller disclosure, so we cancelled the listing.

Brian England it does seem as if it is set up to have the water going through, very interesting. I hope to pass by there again this year and will ask some more questions.

Good morning Nick. I saw a house like this once in New Jersey actually. It had been a former mill and I loved it.

Sheila Anderson if the house is built for the purpose I am sure it is designed not to have a problem. But an interesting point, was it?

Jeremy K. Frost not sure why the best of luck, if you read the post this is not my listing, just illustrating a point.

Joan Cox it seemed to be built this way, so it may have been a mill of some sort. I hope to pass by this location later this year and will certainly aim to gather more information on the building.

Hi Nick,

It would be interesting to know the explanation for this... no doubt there is a very good reason.

Interesting Nick I wonder how old the house is? If the architect designed the house deliberately or if this is a defect. Perhaps John Henry can help us with this.

Hannah Williams the house is in Spain, it is built next to the river, and my thnking is it was built this way as their was a spillway, not sure that is the right terminology guiding water towards the house.

Hi  Nick.  I'm guessing that when those homes were built having running water under the house was a huge benefit.

Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 - You observed many interesting things on your adventure. What a great educational and spiritual journey.

There must have been a legitimate purpose and I guess it was done correctly since the water is still flowing. How cool is that to make these interesting discoveries!

Gabe Sanders good way of looking at it. All depends on the use of the house or mill.

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP the building looks solid enough, and maybe there is a little dampness, but maybe it was built with a certain use in mind and this is all correct. Maybe one day I will find out some more information.
