First-Time Homebuyer? Retiree looking to settle down? There's some Rudd IA real estate for everyone.

From grabbing dinner at a local legend, Tanks Bar & Grill, to planning a family camping trip at a summer favorite, Rudd Park & Campground, there's much to see and do in this small town (going on roughly 500 residents strong).

But what more can you do in Rudd? What about the cost of living? What's the weather? And where would I work? That and more on the way!

#1. What's There to Do in Rudd Iowa?

Besides dining out at Tanks Bar & Grill, which boasts a 4.5 star on TripAdvisor and five stars on Yelp, residents can stop by the local hatchery, Hoover's Hatchery.

Hoover's Hatchery has been in business for over 70 years (having started in 1944). If you're considering getting some feathery friends as pets, perhaps stop by at Hoover's.

Consider Silkie and Old English Bantams to Olive Egger and Americana birds. (Be sure to maintain proper hygiene to avoid salmonella, especially for children.)

Other than Hoover's Hatchery, take a camping trip at Rudd Park & Campground. Campers have mentioned how beautiful the ground is. Plus prime spots are hard to come by. So it may pay off to talk to-and become-a local.

And then Rudd residents and tourists can always venture to the old train depot and butterfly garden.

Besides some of these local Rudd to-dos, you have your shops, bank, and gym for your odds and ends.

#2. What About the Cost of Living in Rudd, Iowa?

The good news is, the cost of living in Rudd, Iowa is relatively inexpensive compared to the state's average: According to Area Vibes, the cost of living in Rudd is a whopping 9% less than the average for Iowa.

Getting more specific: According to Liveability, the median income is about $41,667 and, as far as Rudd IA real estate, the median home comes out to $79,700.

Of course, depending on the housing market, the month you buy or sell, and several other factors, these numbers are subject to change. All the more reason to do your market research and keep a tab on the prices.

#3. What's the Weather Like in Rudd?

According to Area Vibes, the average high is 72 degrees during July. And the average low is a chilly 18 degrees in January.

So residents get to experience all of the seasons. If you're considering Rudd, definitely bring along warm jackets as well as shorts and t-shirts.

#4. Where Will I Work If I Decide to Purchase Rudd IA Real Estate?

In Rudd, the agriculture business is a big employer in town. You can work in the co-op or the local hatchery.

Then again, remote work is becoming more common among companies so that route may be possible.

Is Rudd IA Real Estate for You?

Is small-town living calling your name? Are you a Midwestern type of mover and settler? If so, consider doing some real estate digging and consider Rudd on your list. Have any more tips about Rudd IA real estate?
