Bridges
The Island has four bridges connecting with other parts of the region: The Verrazano, the Goethals, the Outerbridge Crossing and the Bayonne Bridge. Tolls must be paid to cross all four bridges. www.e-zpassny.com
Police Precincts.
The Island has three city police precincts- the 120th, located in St. George 718-876-8478. The 122nd in New Dorp 718-667-2241 and the 123rd in Tottenville 718-948-9304.
Supreme Court
The Richmond County Supreme Court , located in St. George, is the borough's highest court for criminal and civil matters 718-390-5201 or 718-390-5290
Criminal Court
The criminal Court is the first stop in the criminal justice system for Criminal defendants. The Stapleton courthouse holds three court rooms. 646-386-4500
Staten Island has 20 firehouses located throughout the Island. For emergencies dial 718-999-6666. The borough also has two volunteer fire fighting units which are recognized by the fire department.
Ambulance Services
Emergency medical services are provided by three agencies. The Fire Department which merged with the city's Emergency Medical service (EMS) in 1997, the ambulance services of Staten Island University Hospital and Richmond University Medical Center. Volunteer ambulance corps members will provide mutual aid for certain emergencies. All ambulances run by these agencies are dispatched through 911.

The center is geared towards adults who are busy working and raising families. One can enroll on a part time basis or students can take up to 16

Gateway National Recreation Area offers Great Kills Harbor and beaches with views of Raritan Bay. Great Kills park features extensive jogging trails, bike paths and a marina. Miller field and Ft. Wadsworth are also part of the recreation area. Call 718-987-6790 for Great Kills Park.

Sandy Ground Historical Society
The Sandy Ground Historical Society runs a museum about the country's oldest free black settlement which exists on the Rossville site 718-317-5796.

Clove Lakes Park
This 200 acre park features four small lakes, an ice skating rink, boat rentals, bridle paths, ball fields, and some of the oldest trees in NYC.

Conference House

Alice Austen House
Photographer Alice Austin (1866-1952) was born in Rosebank and lived there in a graceful seaside cottage called "clear comfort" for virtually her entire life. The city acquired the house in 1975, and it and it's gardens were restored and opened to the public in 1985. Call 718-816-4506

Staten Island Expressway
The six lane Expressway is the borough's busiest roadway. It cuts across the top of the Island and links the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and Brooklyn with the Goethals Bridge and New Jersey.
West Shore Expressway
This four lane expressway links the Staten Island expressway with the Outerbridge Crossing.

Staten Island September 11th Memorial.
Dedicated to the Staten Island victims of terrorist attacks. The Staten Island 9/11 Memorial is located along the North Shore Waterfront near the Staten Island Ferry Terminal and the Richmond County Ballpark in St. George. Panoramic views of New York Harbor, Lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty can be seen from this site.
