The Importance Of A Pat On The Back

It just feels good to get a pat on the back, or to give one. Wonder why it doesn't happen more often then? I also really appreciated Jan Green 's post. So wonderful to be reading your thoughtful posts again, Michael. 

Hi Michael Jacobs, a smile, touch, showing appreciation, any act of kindness are so simple to do, yet, make a great impact on others. This is an awesome, inspirational post, congratulations on the feature.

Good afternoon Michael - this is a well deserved feature. I read Jan's post too.  Don't underestimate recognition.

I think that people want and apporeciate acknowledgement. Too often people feel invisible and this does not have anthing to do with pumping up someones ego, it is letting them know their importance.

My very first thought reading this, Thank YOU, Michael, for the gift that you give us all here in the Rain on a daily basis.

You're so right, it takes so little time to let those you care about KNOW that you care, yet so many forget to do that one little thing...giving the pat on the back, saying thank you, saying you accept an apology...

Hi Michael- love this and you are so right. It's so interesting what a seemingly small gesture like a pat on the back, a kind word, or a needed smile can make and change someone's day.

Michael, I really enjoyed Jan's post and love yours. You are so right, even the smallest gesture can change someone's day. I've never regretted giving praise, saying thank you or showing appreciation. We can never share too much kindness.

Amazing how powerful it can be. It's much easier than people think to change someone's day.

Saying thank you is so easy - as is giving recognition for a job well done. I have a friend who always says "You get an atta-girl for that." What a nice thing to say.

Whenever I have the opportunity to express my gratitude to someone for a job well done, or something else, I do it.  It makes the world a better place to express froma   positive side and not a negative.

Everyone appreciates a pat on the back or a word of appreciation.

You know how good it feels when you get one...and that should inspire us all to give one !
