Thank You and A Pat On The Back

The importance Of A Pat On The Back

I'd say that the act is pretty important all things considered.

Maybe not the most important.

But certainly deserving of a consideration for a job well-done or even well--a job done--just because.

Jan Green wrote a recent post What Makes You Happy that I found rather inspiring and one that is relatively easy for any of us to do.

And you can do as needed or just when you think of it.

Why not today?  Or tomorrow?  Why not as a part of YOU?

Try it.

Be inspired. Do inspiring things.  Make inspiring things a part of you.

And while you are at it...you can ponder too.

There's inspiring things happening.  All around.

Photo taken by Michael Jacobs - saying thank you or giving a pat on the back need not be complicated.  It need not be formal.  Try it. Make it a part of your life.  Everyday.

It just feels good to get a pat on the back, or to give one. Wonder why it doesn't happen more often then? I also really appreciated Jan Green 's post. So wonderful to be reading your thoughtful posts again, Michael.

I think that people want and apporeciate acknowledgement. Too often people feel invisible and this does not have anthing to do with pumping up someones ego, it is letting them know their importance.

My very first thought reading this, Thank YOU, Michael, for the gift that you give us all here in the Rain on a daily basis.

You're so right, it takes so little time to let those you care about KNOW that you care, yet so many forget to do that one little thing...giving the pat on the back, saying thank you, saying you accept an apology...

Debe Maxwell, CRS - and thank YOU, showing that we care sends a wonderful message.

Hi Michael- love this and you are so right. It's so interesting what a seemingly small gesture like a pat on the back, a kind word, or a needed smile can make and change someone's day.

Saying thank you is so easy - as is giving recognition for a job well done. I have a friend who always says "You get an atta-girl for that." What a nice thing to say.

Whenever I have the opportunity to express my gratitude to someone for a job well done, or something else, I do it.  It makes the world a better place to express froma   positive side and not a negative.
