There are a couple of different train stations in within close proxminty to the Greater Danbury area. There is a train station within the heart of Danbury,CT. For that train station, there is service to lower Farfield County, with stops in downtown Bethel, West Redding, Georgetown, the Merrit 7 office park and South Norwalk, where you can transfer for service to Stamford and other stations found along the New Haven commuter railine or Acella express.
Located to the west of Danbury, there are three stations in nearby NY state. There is the original Brewster,NY station just outside of the village center of Brewster,NY, the Southeast,NY train station just past the Home Depot, Kohls & DeCicco and son's shopping center along Indepence Way in Brewster,NY as well as Purdy's,NY. All of these trains are along the Harlem line, offering service leading to Grand Central Station in New York City.
From Danbury, there is bus service from the exit 2 & 1 commuter routes into the Brewster,NY train station, since there is limited parking. I would also recommend being dropped off or taking an Uber/Lyft at a reasonable cost to there as well. Here is information about the busing. At the southwest NY train station, there is free parking on weeknights weekends & holidays, but durning the week, you must pay for daily parking (quarters only) or try to get an annual pass. There is a very large parking lot-Uber & Lfyt is also an option. From the Starbucks shopping center on Mill Plain Road, the Southeast,NY train station is a 15 minute drive, 12 minutes to the Brewster village train station. Purdy's NY is furhter, appromiately 18 minutes away-there is a small parking lot there.

Thank you for some wonderful memories. I took the train from Brewster to The City on many occasions. A scenic tour of Westchester County, NY.
