I am not big on flowers, but certainly enjoy their beauty.  It is always nice to witness them opening and blooming!

First you remind me I need to buy an orchid, Alexandra, and now it's a reminder to bring some tulips home. I think there's some flower shopping in my future this coming week.

Signs of Spring. My neice brought me tulips yesterday - they are cheerful.  The quote is just perfect too.

I'm with you, Alexandra.  I love receiving flowers that have a "future" to them.  Watching buds explode into vibrant color as the year approaches spring is always delightful.

I love simple because the lines and colors impress me Ron and Alexandra Seigel 

We have had two bunches of tulips in the house this week, I bought some yellow ones last Monday, and what we do is to cut the ends, and prick just below the head with a pin, supposedly this helps them to hold their heads up longer. Being Dutch we know these things. Anyway, we did a test because a friend came for dinner the same day with a bunch of red and yellow tulips, these we did not prick with a pin below the heads. The yellow ones today are still fine, and the red and yellow ones got thrown out this morning, never having really opened and drooping badly. So, it must work.
