Unique School Valentines

Education & Training with Mommy Enlightened

As the mother of an elementary-aged kiddo, I know how often we find ourselves scrambling to get things for school projects, events, or parties. If you guys are anything like me, this tends to end up with grabbing the easiest thing from the shelf at the store.

I decided that this year, I wanted to do things a little bit differently. Primarily, when it comes to Valentine's day and Valentine exchanges in the classroom! It is definitely easy to walk into any big-box store and find a multitude of ideas for your various basic Valentine cards. More often than not, there is a favorite character or movie themed card that our kids choose, based on their interest that year.

This has always worked out just fine for us, as I am sure it does for most families. This year, I got to thinking, those cutesy little paper Valentine cards can be easy and affordable but they are so basic and overdone! There always tends to be multiples of the same ones handed out in each class and by the time the kiddos get home with them, everything besides the potential candy attached to them quickly becomes trash!

I went out seeking something different! A more unique take on the basic Valentine's Day cards that wouldn't be overly expensive OR make things more difficult than they needed to be! While the idea of attaching candy to Valentines is somewhat "traditional" it hasn't always been my favorite. I tend to feel like my son gets way more than enough sugar as it is!

Upon searching, I found some of the most incredible unique school valentines that put a completely different spin on things. I can't imagine any kid that wouldn't be thrilled to get some of these in their Valentines box/bag/etc. They are unique, usable items that won't become trash the second they hit the front door!

From adorable Valentine-themed wrist bands, slap bracelets, and slime to scratch and sniff, cootie catchers, and paper airplanes; I seriously found so many amazing options! The affordability of these was actually really surprising to me, as I am SURE I have paid plenty more than this for party favors and similar items in the past!
