What a perfect Saturday early dinner we enjoyed at one of our favorite restaurants here in Port Orange, Aunt Catfish on the River.
We timed it perfectly, and beat the crowds that were arriving late afternoon and lining up at the door. This restaurant is located on the Port Orange Causeway/Bridge directly on the east side of the beautiful Halifax river.
We had family visiting from Georgia and knew if we wanted to get in before the weekend crowds, we better get there by about 3pm. We all enjoyed a pre dinner cocktail and then a most delicious meal. Their bloody mary's are legendary as are their other libations which they will prepare with or without alcohol.
The salad bar and hot bar are famous here at Aunt Catfish and for over 40 years they have been serving up fresh seafood, a to die for salad bar, cheese grits, corn bread, and an abundance of other delicacies that keep bringing both locals and visitors back year after year.
Everyone gets one of their famous home made cinnamon buns too and hush puppies.
If you plan to visit their address is, 4009 Halifax Drive, Port Orange, Florida 32127 - They also have a very popular Sunday bluejeans brunch where they make fresh omelets, pancakes, and offer an amazing array of great food and fixins.
