In this conversation with The Bangles band member Debbie Peterson, we discuss the importance of organizing your marketing strategy to get more done during the year. Debbie Peterson: While it is a great feeling to get on stage and hear “ladies and gentlemen… The Bangles”, it does take a lot of planning and marketing to get there. In the real world, there is no one that is going to step up and say I will take care of you for free, you must either spend time or money to plan your marketing. Sure, today feels like a manic Monday and you might be going down to Liverpool and feel like your week is already getting out of hand, but its important to step back and plan. If you do not stop and MAKE the time to plan your marketing, you’re going to tear off your own head trying to get through the hazy shade of winter when your leads start diminishing. Even in real estate, a hero takes a fall when the leads dry up. Look, everything I wanted could be in my room or even in your room, but I got nothin but an eternal flame of wishing all over the place without a marketing strategy. Everything that looks easy for others, seen in a different light, is actually hard work behind the scenes. So get up, walk like an Egyptian, and learn more about creating your annual marketing strategy or hiring a professional marketing team.
Wow! Meeting with Debbie Peterson was inspirational. I used to listen to their music as a teenager when I had that high hair (hairspray walking fire hazard) look going on in the late 80’s and if you remember, they also had a song on the soundtrack album for The Goonies. I must share with you that she did point out that there is one single factor that can make or break your business this year.
