Flowers and Their Vases - at Japanese Friendship Garden Phoenix

One of my favorite pastimes is to visit the Phoenix Art Museum, to stop at the tokonoma (see my blog from 2016 here) and to snap a photo of the current ikebana flower arrangement. After so many years and visits, my own photo collection developed and I visit it often - on my computer screen - to relax and rejuvenate while working on projects.

So, you can understand my delight when I visited the 10th Annual Ikebana installation "Flowers and Their Vases" at the Japanese Friendship Garden this week-end. More than 20 artists presented their beautiful and meaningful flower arrangements on the 3.5 acres of the garden.

Hi Steffy - I'm also a fan of ikebana, and really like the arrangement you showcase here. I've been to the County Fair in Kauai, HI a few times and visiting the ikebana hall was my favorite. The last day of the fair they would auction off many of the displays, but sadly I could only look on wistfully since they'd never make it home to California.

William Feela , thanks for stopping by. I agree, very interesting placements and arrangements. If you look at the ase with the waterfall backdro, it seems to me the flowers are like falling waters, resembling the waterfall behind.
