February is African American History Month

 

Gaithersburg celebrates African American History Month with an official proclamation at City Hall, an art exhibit and reception with Sandra Davis at the Activity Center, an exploration of the experiences of African American soldiers in World War I at the Community Museum, and a discussion about inspiration with a local resident who was a driver for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., taking place at the Benjamin Gaither Center. Good reminder, Roy!  I've been watching a PBS documentary that has revealed parts of black history that I never knew.  Very interesting.  It's titled, "Many Rivers to Cross" with Henry Louis Gates.
