Everybody loves a sea turtle on the beach - especially on Maui

Good morning Georgie. I am not a fan of turtles but in this setting.......I love it.

Looks like they are all taking a nap.  That would certainly be a nice scene to see!

I love the "honu" creatures in Hawaii.  We were snorkeling on the Big Island, and we watched one diving, and then come up.  It looked like an angel!  A

Hey Georgie, you know the area I live in (Florida Space Coast) is the largest Sea Turtle nesting area on earth. Here is a fun fact...sea turtles lay their eggs withing a quarter mile of the spot they were hatched. They have radar I guess.

Oh, they are amazing creatures. They look so prehistoric. I haven't seen one since we visited Maui about 10 years ago.  

I was reading a story about a green sea turtle and what it taught the person telling the story about life and not fighting the waves but going with the flow and focusing on those things that help you acheive your goals and not everything that comes your way. Love the photo, makes me want to go and take a snooze and wait for winter to pass.

Jupiter Beach in Florida is a hatching ground and is staked out for the eggs. It's fun to see the little ones come up and head to sea as they have done for thousands of years.

That's where I want to be during this Polar Vortex...laying on a beach as the warm sunshine beams upon my face. So jealous

My guess would be along the same line as Joe's. Do they lay their eggs there? Besides the islands in that location, the options might be a little slim in all directions.

Nice post especially for Friday afternoon.. set my mind for the weekend. I visited Lanai a few years ago and I was in love. I bet that island is not the only one that I would fall in love. Thank you for sharing
