There are a lot of activities going on.
Many require some degree of cold. Ice and snow sculptures for one.
But I hear many complaining about what their next heating bill will be like.
Some got an extra day off. Kids are off of school so it becomes a family day.
Others complain that they lose some pay or that their cars won't start.
And one more that does not like the cold and snow...

As I kid I prayed for those snow days so we could play outside making forts, ice skating, sledding, snow skiing or having good old fashion snow ball fights! Now..different story..would love to see it around the holidays and then I'm with Lucy!! LOL!!
My husband agrees with Lucy, and we only got down to 12 above last night.
Heating bills - not a good thought. Makes me grateful that we have a wood stove for backup and that we brought in a couple of cords of wood, just in case we needed them. I'm staying toasty warm - without running up a huge propane bill.

My favorite temperatures are right around 70 or 75, sunny, low humidity, and a little breeze. Those are rare in NY!
Right now it's -6, which is definitely a bit chillier than I like. But it is what it is, and I will limit my outdoor exposure.
Even for the kids it is a bit cold to play ourside for any amout of t ime
