Many people ask me why I live in the North Georgia Mountains and in Big Canoe. It really is 2 questions.
The North Georgia Mountains are beautiful. They are close to many activities. You can be close to Chattanooga or Atlanta. These are two very active places. In many ways I am reminded of growing up and being in the county for vacation , although now I am here full time.
Big Canoe is an unspoiled mountain community. Yes there is golf, tennis, walking trails, a fitness center 3 pools ( one indoors), over 100 clubs, and is close to Atlanta . So you can be 50 minutes or so from plays, fine dining a baseball game, a football game or ballet. You will as many say after they retire to Big Canoe they are more busy now than they were when they were working. But do not think that Big Canoe is only for retirees. There are many working folks and families that live here.

This is the same view in winter . A real winter wonderland. By the way 2 days later the temperature was in the 60's. So this is a really enjoyable crystalline winter day.
These great scenes are not limited to Big Canoe. The North Georgia mountains offer many views as well as lakes trout streams and water falls. The beauty is that today just before the super bowl it is in the high 50's and sunny. Yes during the 22 below in Chicago it was 22 here too. But 22 ABOVE zero. We have mild summers in our mountains. In fact many homes in Big Canoe and in our mountains are owned by Floridians who come here for the summer.
