5 Hot Matthews, NC (28105 Zip Code) Neighborhoods To Watch In 2019
The story behind the hot neighborhoods in Matthews in 2018 is the relatively sharp increases in the average sale prices of homes. With one exception, these neighborhoods did not see very large increases in the number of homes sold in 2018 compared with 2017, but home prices did escalate. Matthews remains a reasonably affordable area for home buyers despite the 2018 price increases with three of these neighborhoods averaging sale prices under $300,000.
Brightmoor remains a "hot" selling neighborhood in Matthews with 26 home sales in 2018 (up one versus 2017). As with many neighborhoods in Matthews, Brightmoor's average sale price increased in 2018 to $290,511 from $258,914 the prior year.
A well-established Matthews neighborhood, Callaway Plantation had 14 closed home sales in 2018 compared with 10 in 2017. Average sale price increased from $181,950 in 2017 to $204,079 in 2018.
Weddington Ridge saw 17 closed homes sales in 2018 (one less than in the prior year). But the "real story" here is the big increase in the average selling price for homes. In 2018 the average selling price increased significantly to $318,612 from $286,467 in 2017.
The number of homes sold in Deerfield Creek doubled to 18 in 2018 from nine homes sold in 2017. Home prices were also up considerably. Average sale price in 2018 was $600,792 compared with $554,667 in 2017. Schools, location, large semi-custom homes keep this community a stalwart favorite in Matthews.
