In today's "To Do" column of the Minot Daily News I noticed a group called POP, Publish Or Parish, was meeting this afternoon.
I thought my son Timmothy may want to join me to see what it's all about. I've been enjoying writing as a blogger and Timmothy is already a published author at the age of 17 so it seemed like a good fit for us.
It was not what I expected but I have to say it was even better than I expected. It was a small group and two other "newbies" also joined. I have to say I loved meeting everyone that attended... what a great congenial group!
Participants are encouraged to bring some of their material and pass it around for constructive criticism. The material I read was great, it was an honor to be able to share and comment on it.
Their FB page is Minot WriMos so after the meeting I was eager to check it out and join the group (there are no fees or obligation to attend the in person meetings). I was surprised at how may FB members they have when so few people attended today's meeting... but then again our high temp today is somewhere below zero and that may have kept a few people snug at home.
