A Rainy Saturday "Field Trip" in San Francisco

By
Real Estate Agent with Compass CA DRE# 01215160

Today was a rainy Saturday in San Francisco. While that means my qi gong class at the top of Lafayette Park didn't take place, it did mean we had a couple of unexpected hours for a "field trip" we have wanted to take for a long time - a visit to Rainbow Grocery

Rainbow Grocery, San Francisco

We spent a delightful couple of hours perusing the aisles, starting with an almost overwhelming array of bulk teas, flours of all types, nuts, oils, mushrooms, nuts and seeds and then moving into the aisles rich with numerous varieties of vegetarian food - condiments, soups, protein powders of various descriptions, aisle after aisle of supplements, and food of all types.

Rainbow Grocery SF Mission Statement

Rainy days have silver linings indeed. Ours today was our first (but not last) visit to Rainbow Grocery.

Lottie five years ago I would have loaded up on many of those merchandise:)) Now that Diane needs to be on a relatively bland diet, I hardly use any "hot" ingredients... it took  some adjustments...Endre

It might make me sound odd, Lottie, but having spent 10 years in the grocery business when I was in the corporat world, I love going to any kind of grocery store and checking out the goods.

Happy Sunday, William Feela and Sharon Lee - most days, if we have the time, we head to the hills or the ocean bluffs for a hike; yesterday was the perfect day to visit Rainbow Grocery.

Endre Barath, Jr. - I'm sure Diane would find items to her liking at Rainbow Grocery -- lots of choices other than hot sauces!

Nina Hollander - usually I'm on a mission and qickly in and out of a grocery store. Rainbow was worth a careful look. I'll go back.

I don't often browse, Sheila Anderson but yesterday's trip to Rainbow Grocery was a lot of fun. In fact, I'm munching on dried, unsweetened pineapple as I write. Yum!

Rainbow Grocery was a lot of fun, and an eye-opening experience, Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 I'm sure my next trip I'll find even more wonderful products to try.

Gita Bantwal - Rainbow Grocery is worth a visit if your time permits.

The shelves pictured with the plethora of plentiful sauces would cause me a dilemma, Lottie.  How could I choose just one?

Lottie Kendall - What an interesting Grocery Store. You got me curious and I found it on Wikipedia. What history! Until now, I never heard of them but it's interesting to read about how they evolved over time and what they accomplished in about 40 years too. I can understand why you would like this store and have fun there too!

It has been rainy here too.
